CREATING A SAFER COMMUNITY.

Residents of the Longview area of Huyton, are invited to have their say in how funding to the amount of 10,000 pounds, can be spent to make their local area a safer place to live.

An open invitation has been made to Longview residents to meet up at the Villages Hotel in Fallows Way to share ideas this Wednesday 28th April 2010 between 9.30am and 3pm. Lunch will be provided as well as transport if needed.

Everton and Liverpool FC stars lead battle to save Huyton Cricket Club

Steven Gerrard and Peter Reid are backing the fight to keep their local cricket club from going under.

Once one of the cities most prestigious set-ups, the 150 year old Huyton Cricket Club has fallen on hard times recently due to a lack of funds.

But a surge of local support from Huyton footballing heroes may now save the club from going under.

A fundraising event at Café Sports England, the city centre bar owned by Jamie Carragher is to be held on may 2 where cash rasied by an auction, and money taken on the door will go to support the Huyton Lane club.

Well, the Huyton Times website has been online for 10 years this year, so we thought we would give it a new look to celebrate!

And here it is, we hope you will find it more interactive and user friendly than the old site, which has been online since 2003. There are lots of new features, still got a few finishing touches to add, but ee hope to add more as time goes by ;-)

You are welcome to the The Huyton Suite, Civic Way Huyton to the mark the official launch of the "Bridge over the Bluebell project." The event will take the form of a 1940s World War 2 theme party, featuring children and adults from Huyton recreating a VE day celebration. The event will feature quizzes, activities and games as well as period music, guests in WW2 costume, uniformed sentry guards, an air raid and even a spitfire. The food for the evening is based on actual 1945 VJ day celebration menu found in Knowsley's archives.

Snow covered Huyton is the coldest in 30 years!
